Living close to any lighthouse makes photographing it simpler... there's no argument about that.  While there are a lot of lighthouses in the general New York metropolitan area, getting to them when they're open can be a bit more of a challenge than just hopping in the car and driving there!  After a summer of dates that didn't match when I could take off and go to photograph, fortune finally smiled the last day of August when the Tarrytown lighthouse was open for visitors!
