Pemaquid Point lighthouse
sits in what is, at least in my opinion, one of the most spectacular
settings imaginable on the Maine coast. Although the banner
image above doesn't warrant my comment about the setting for this
lighthouse, I think that some of the photos below and in the additional
galleries do.
During the summer of 2007,
the tower at Pemaquid Point was wrapped in scaffolding for the
stone masons to work on restoration and needed repairs to the
moartar joints in the tower. While needed, the scaffolding
rendered the lighthouse substantially less photogenic than it
would normally be. The images below were shot in August
2007 during the restoration work. The images contained in
the second gallery were shot in April 2008 when the work was completed
on a day during the week when there were few other people visiting
the lighthouse.
