Heavy rains sometimes provide ephemeral pools and puddles that can be used to capture reflections that aren't otherwise to be seen. Such was the case when I was at Bodie Island in April this year. The standing water after a night of heavy rains gave me the opportunity to use those pools as mirrors of both Bodie and the sky overhead. Additional Bodie Island Galleries:
