Canal Park in downtown
Duluth is nirvana for any boat nerd when a freighter is coming
into the port. One day in November when the Edward L. Ryerson
was upbound was certainly no exception. The crowd began to gather
when she was just a spec on the horizon. As she got closer the
PA system announced her arrival, this the third time she had sailed
through the canal. The Ryerson has been laid up in Sturgeon Bay,
WI since 1998 and returned to service on the lakes this summer.
What a treat to see this stately vessel in service again!
