Every once in a while when you're out photographing the waves, you see people tempting fate. This animation from the November 13th gale is one of those occasions. Watching through a 300 mm lens while photographing the breaking waves at South Haven, an individual who was out on the pier at the lighthouse went around the lighthouse, I guess to see one of the big waves breaking up close and personal? A wave broke and as you'll see in this animation, he beat a hasty retreat back to relative safety, albeit not warm and dry, I'm certain!
