Seguin Island light is distantly visible from Popham Beach

Seguin Island lighthouse in the late afternoon from Popham Beach at a focal length of 300 mm, which is the equivalent of 6X.  You'll need to look carefully if you're not using binoculars.

Seguin Island lighthosue from Popham Beach at a focal length of 600 mm, which is the longest lens I had with me on that trip... Oh well, it's a good excuse to go back and shoot it with big glass...  Or better still to go out to the island for a couple of hours on one of the cruises run in July and August  on Thursdays on the Atlantic Seal out of South Freeport.  See the excellent book by Jeremy D'Entremont, "The Lighthouse Handbook: New England," Cidermill Press, 2008, pp. 287-289 for more information.
