Ram Ledge is
a stretch to photograph with any detail with a normal focal length
lens. When you begin to photograph with longer telephotos,
that changes dramatically. The photographs below were taken
using a 500 mm f/4 Nikkor AF-S lens. On a Nikon DSLR body,
because of the telephoto factor, that becomes a 750 mm f/4 lens
and 1500 mm f/8 when you use a 2X teleconverter as used for the
bottom shot on this page.
750 mm photograph of the
Ram Ledge light.
At 1500 mm, the tower pretty
much fills the viewfinder!
