I hadn't been out lighthousing on Long Island since April 2006, so getting out to see and photograph some of the lighthouses on the Long Island Lighthouse Challenge was a good excuse to go again, especially since the challenge is the only time that some of these lights are open to visitors...

Huntington Harbor was the first lighthouse on my itinerary this trip, and the Huntington Lighthouse Preservtion Society was running boat trips out to the lighthouse!
