We approached Menagerie Island from the east, cruising toward the lighthouse along the north side of the island, which lies more or less east-west. It was late in the afternoon so until we neared a point due north of the lighthouse, the contrast was high. The series of three photos above shows our approach to Isle Royale lighthouse along the north side of Menagerie Island. The left photo below was one of the last taken before we turned back east along the north side. The pano below shows a high contrast view shot nearly into the sun as we cruised west along the south side of the island.
