Stairway to Heaven -- for a lighthouse fanatic at any rate. These are the steps leading up inside the body of the mammoth 1st order Fresnel lens at Pigeon Point. The keeper had access to the lamps in the lens via these stairs, as did I to photograph the interior of the lens.
