Atlantic Canada has more than 400 lighthouses, 150 of them in Nova Scotia, making it a lighthouse lover's and photographer's paradise! Needless to say I've got many more to visit and photograph...

The map above is from Google Earth with push pins to locate the five lighthouses in the Halifax Bay area.  The map has been rotated significantly so I could get Sambro Island in down in the lower right corner.  North is indicated by the compass in the upper right corner of the map.

Those interested in reading more about the lighthouses of Nova Scotia are referred to, "Lighthouses and Lights of Nova Scotia" by E. H. Rip Irwin published by Nimbus Publishing, Ltd., PO Box 9166, Halifax, NS, Canada B3K 5M8 (902) 433-4286.  A useful pocket companion is found in "Discover Nova Scotia Lighthouses" by D. Stephens and S. Randles, co-publihed by The Province of Nova Scotia and Nimbus Publishing, Ltd.
