Sambro Island lighthouse sits atop a granite island near the mouth of the deep water Halifax harbor. The lighthouse itself is built of granite blocks and once housed a beautiful 1st order bullseye Fresnel lens. The lens can now be viewed in the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic on the Halifax water front.
