"The Promise" - I sat in my rental car along NC 12 for over an hour, waiting for a lightning storm down by Oregon Inlet to move north. It never did. Giving up, I drove back to just see Bodie Island one last time for the day and was rewarded by a rainbow arching over the lighthouse that only lasted for about 5 minutes. Fortunately, it was long enough to photograph extensively!
