View from the Pigeon Point lantern room looking west over the submerged rocks off the tip of Pigeon Point. It was on these rocks that the clipper ship Passenger Pigeon ran aground for which Pigeon Point is named in the early 1800s before the lighthouse was built. The fog signal building is the last building going west toward the ocean.
