This photograph gives a pretty good idea of just how large a 1st order Fresnel lens and its' rotating apparatus are. This is the lens from the Cape Canaveral lighthouse in Florida. It is now housed in a 2 story building at Ponce de Leon Inlet to preserve it from the vibration it was enduring at the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse from repeated rocket launches!
