Celestial Silhouette

In early November 2004, southwest Michigan enjoyed two nights of spectacular displays of the Aurora Borealis. This photograph of the St Joseph north pier inner light and catwalk was shot early the second evening of the display. The light from the aurora out over Lake Michigan was bright enough to produce this spectacular but eerie silhouette of the catwalk leading out to the inner light.
