"Cerulean Twilight"
Pigeon Point Lighthouse, Pescadero, California
I frequently photograph long after sunset when I visit Pigeon Point. This photograph was shot on a cold, windy November evening in 2000 when I was there. The photograph was taken more than 30 minutes after sunset and the name derives from the color of blue in the sky, which is known as cerulean blue to artists who paint. I was intrigued by the silhouette of the fence leading to the lighthouse. Venus, is riding low in the sky to the left of the lighthouse.
