"Sunset Silhouette"
Photograph of the Little Sable lighthouse looking due west from the parking lot. Capturing Little Sable at sunset is more difficult than many Lake Michigan lights because of the barrier dunes. You either have to choose to shoot to the west from the parking lot and capture a silhouette above the tops of the dunes or you have to shoot from atop the dune looking north or south. The best photos from atop the dunes are when the sun is farthest north in June around the summer solstice.
