There's no two ways about it, Sisters Island is one lighthouse on the St Lawrence River that is far better seen and photographed from the water!  The US side of the river in the vicinity of Sisters Island is heavily forested.  There are very distant views of the Sisters Island lighthouse from down river off some of the side roads.  The one photo I got of Sisters Island was shot at 600 mm through some trees in the very near foreground below.  Trips are now available to Singer Castle from Alexandria Bay.  Since Singer Castle is down river from Sisters Island, the boat to the castle has to pass Sisters Island so those trips should provide a view of this otherwise difficult to see light from the water.
