The Ogdensburg Harbor lighthouse is located at the confluence of the St Lawrence and Oswegatchie Rivers.  The town of Ogdensburg, New York is directly across the St Lawrence from Prescott, Ontario, Canada, which is also now home to a replica lighthouse.  The current Ogdensburg Harbor lighthouse was built in 1870 and replaced a structure with a lantern room that had served since 1834.  The lighthouse passed into private ownership in 1964 after the town of Ogdensburg declined to purchase the property.  The Rosenthal family, which owns the lighthouse, has contacted the American Lighthouse Foundation (ALF) in an effort to secure assistance with the restoration and maintenance of the lighthouse.
