Getting to 9 Mile Point lighthouse on Simcoe Island, Canada, is a great mini adventure in and of itself.  From Kingston, Ontario you begin by taking the Wolfe Island car ferry (free) over to Wolfe Island.  From the ferry landing in Marysville, exit to Route 95 and then right onto Route 96 to a gravel road that leads to a two car cable ferry for the ride across to Simcoe Island.  Once on Simcoe Island, there's a single, main road -- follow it to its end.  If the gate is open, visitors are permitted to cross private property to the Canadian Coast Guard property that the lighthouse occupies.  The beach area is not public.  Please respect the privacy of the property owners so they'll continue to be accommodating to lighthouse visitors!
