In September 2009, GLLKA (the Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Assoc.) organized a trip on the Keweenaw Stara across the Great Lakes beginning from Houghton, Michigan continuing the first day to Marquette. The second day, our route took us across Lake Superior, into the St Marys River to Sault Ste. Marie. Day three was down the St Marys River, into Lake Huron and along the north side of Bois Blanc Island ending in St. Ignace. Our fourth and final day on the lakes took us through the Mackinac Strait down the western shore of Lake Michigan to Charlevoix.

The photo mosaic below is comprised of images created during the four days of my trip across the Great Lakes. It was an unforgettable experience to say the least -- I ended up shooting in excess of 5,000 photographs during the trip and the day before it began while roaming around the Keweenaw Peninsula.

The greyed image below has letters for each of the individual images that will eventually have a "key" to identify where the photo was shot or which lighthouse it is as the case may be.
