Fire Island Lighthouse is a majestic tall tower on Long Island seen on the approach to New York harbor with one white and two black bands for day marking. The present lighthouse, constructed in 1857-1858 is a 168 foot tall conical brick tower encased in cement. The original optic was a 1st order Fresnel lens.
